1. Scope and Product Identification

This Privacy Policy explains how Banana Booth handles information across three surfaces:

  • The Banana Booth website at bananabooth.app, including marketing pages, age verification, account features if offered, purchase checkout, and Android APK download.

  • The Banana Booth Android app (package com.bananaphotobooth.builder) distributed as a direct-download APK from bananabooth.app.

  • The Banana Booth iPhone/iPad web app delivered through Safari or another web browser on iOS and iPadOS, served from bananabooth.app.

Banana Booth is operated by Banana Booth App LLC (“Banana Booth,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), a limited liability company formed in New Mexico.

Banana Booth is a local-first photo-compositing product for adults. Photo editing occurs on your device (mobile app or web browser). Banana Booth does not receive or store your source photos, works in progress, or finished compositions.

Third-party websites, applications, browsers, device services, payment processors, and age verification providers referenced or integrated with Banana Booth are governed by their own terms and privacy practices. Where Banana Booth uses a third-party service to enable a feature you initiated (age verification, checkout, download delivery), that provider’s role is described in the relevant section below.

2. Privacy Summary

  • Your photos are processed on your device. Banana Booth never receives or stores your source images, in-progress edits, or finished compositions.

  • Banana Booth is intended for adults only (18 or older, or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater). Access to adult content requires age verification through a third-party provider before you can view or purchase such content.

  • The Android APK does not declare the Android INTERNET permission and cannot transmit your photos or usage activity to Banana Booth. The web app runs in your browser and processes images locally via JavaScript executing on your device.

  • The Banana Booth website uses privacy-respecting first-party analytics only. No third-party advertising trackers, no cross-context behavioral tracking, no personalized advertising.

  • Purchases are processed by a third-party payment processor. Banana Booth receives transaction confirmation but does not receive or store full payment card numbers.

  • Banana Booth has no advertising, no personalized ads, no data sale, and no cross-site tracking.

  • A finished image leaves your device only when you intentionally save it or share it to another application.

3. Age Verification and Adult Content

Banana Booth is intended solely for adults.

Access to any content or purchase considered adult under applicable law requires you to first confirm that you meet the age threshold that applies in your jurisdiction (18 years of age or older in the United States; the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater; 18 or older in the United Kingdom under Online Safety Act guidance).

How age verification works

Age verification is provided by a third-party vendor (anticipated: Yoti, or another vendor named on our website at the time of your visit). Depending on the vendor and your jurisdiction, verification methods may include facial age estimation, government-issued identification review, or credit card verification as a proxy for age.

Banana Booth receives from the age verification vendor only a pass/fail result and a session token confirming your verification. Banana Booth does not receive or store the underlying identification, biometric scan, or facial estimation data used by the vendor to make the determination. The vendor’s handling of that data is governed by the vendor’s own privacy policy, which will be linked at the point of verification.

Verification session and re-verification

Verification is tied to your browser session or device. You may be asked to re-verify after a period of time, when clearing browser storage, when using a new device or browser, or when applicable law changes. The verification session record on Banana Booth’s side contains only the pass/fail flag, jurisdiction, verification timestamp, and vendor session reference — not the underlying verification content.

Geographic scope

Banana Booth may block access from jurisdictions where we do not currently operate, where legal requirements exceed our current compliance scope, or where our payment processor cannot accept transactions. The website will indicate if your jurisdiction is not currently served.

If you are under 18 (or under the age of majority in your jurisdiction)

Do not use Banana Booth. Do not attempt to verify. Do not submit any information. If you discover that a minor has attempted to access Banana Booth or has completed any activity on the service, contact us immediately at privacy@bananabooth.app so we can review, revoke access, and delete any information that reached our systems. See Section 15 (Children’s Privacy) for additional detail.

4. The Banana Booth Website (bananabooth.app)

What the website does

  • Hosts public marketing and information pages

  • Hosts the age verification gate before adult content or purchases

  • Hosts the checkout process for pack and product purchases

  • Delivers the Android APK download for Android users

  • Delivers the iPhone/iPad web app (the browser-based editor)

  • Hosts privacy, terms, contact, and support content

What the website collects

Category What is collected and how
Server access logs IP address, user-agent, referring URL, requested URL, timestamp, HTTP status. Retained for security and abuse prevention no longer than 30 days by default
Privacy-first analytics Aggregate visit counts, page views, referrer information, approximate country. First-party, cookieless, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers. Retained in aggregate form.
Age verification session state Pass/fail flag, jurisdiction, verification timestamp, session token issued by verification vendor. Retained per applicable legal recordkeeping obligations.
Checkout information Order details (which pack, price, currency). Full payment card numbers are NOT collected by Banana Booth — they are collected directly by the payment processor. Banana Booth receives transaction confirmation and a redacted card reference (e.g., last four digits) for support purposes.
Support communications Any information you voluntarily provide when emailing support or privacy addresses.
Download tracking Which APK version was requested and general download completion status. No personal identifier tied to the download event beyond the general server log entry.

What the website does NOT collect

  • Your photos, image edits, or compositions

  • Content of files you edit in the web app

  • Advertising identifiers or cross-context tracking data

  • Precise geolocation

  • Facial recognition or biometric templates (age verification vendor’s handling is described above)

  • Contact lists, calendar, messages, or other device data

Cookies and browser storage on the website

The website uses only essential cookies and browser storage:

  • Session cookies — maintain your session state (age verification pass/fail, cart contents during checkout). Deleted when you close your browser or on session expiration.

  • Local storage / IndexedDB — the iPhone/iPad web app may store editing session state locally in your browser so you can return to work in progress. This never contains photos of your face or body — it contains only editor state (layer positions, selected pack). You can clear this at any time through your browser’s storage controls.

  • Service worker cache — application assets (code, illustrations, pack files) may be cached by the web app for offline availability and faster loading. Cached assets are non-personal.

The website does NOT use: third-party advertising cookies, cross-site tracking pixels, third-party analytics cookies, retargeting tags, or fingerprinting.

5. The Banana Booth Android App

The Android app is distributed as a direct-download APK from bananabooth.app. It is not currently distributed through Google Play. Users install it by downloading the APK and enabling installation from unknown sources on their Android device.

Verified permission architecture

The compiled Android release APK has been inspected. Its declared user-facing permission set is limited to camera access and image-reading access, described below. The APK does not declare Android’s INTERNET permission. Under Android’s permission model, an application cannot open ordinary network sockets without this permission. Because INTERNET is absent, the Android app cannot directly transmit app data or image content over the internet.

This restriction applies to Banana Booth itself. It does not prevent another application selected by you — such as a messaging, email, cloud-storage, or social-media application — from transmitting a finished image after you intentionally use Android’s Share function.

Android Permission Why requested How Banana Booth uses it
android.permission.CAMERA Optional camera capture Used only when you choose to take a new photo inside the app. Denying does not prevent selecting an existing image.
android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES Read image media on Android 13+ Used to let you choose an existing image for editing. Not used to upload, catalog, or transmit your library.
android.permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (maxSdkVersion=32) Legacy image access on Android 12 and earlier Legacy image selection only, capped at API level 32.

Permissions not declared: INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, RECORD_AUDIO, precise or approximate location, contacts, calendar, SMS, phone state, notifications, Advertising ID access.

Independent verification

You can verify the claims in this section. On your Android device, open Settings → Apps → Banana Booth → Permissions to see permissions the app has requested. Technical users may inspect the compiled APK using Android SDK’s aapt2 tool to enumerate declared permissions and confirm INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE are absent.

Purchased packs and updated APK builds

Packs are currently distributed as part of the APK. When you purchase additional packs, they may be delivered as either (a) a new APK build downloaded from bananabooth.app that includes the purchased packs, or (b) a separate pack file downloaded from the website and imported into the app. The mechanism used at the time of your purchase is described at checkout. In either case, downloading occurs through your web browser or file manager, not through a network connection initiated by the Android app itself.

If a future release of the app adds direct network capability (for example, to download packs from within the app), we will update this policy, request the appropriate permission, and disclose the new data flows before or when that release becomes available.

6. The iPhone / iPad Web App

For iPhone and iPad users, Banana Booth is delivered as a web application through Safari or another web browser. The web app is served from bananabooth.app and runs entirely in your browser.

How the web app processes photos

Photo editing in the web app is performed by JavaScript code executing in your browser on your device. When you select or capture an image, the browser reads the file on your device and processes it locally. Background removal, layer composition, resizing, rotation, and final rendering occur on your device.

Your photo is NOT uploaded to Banana Booth servers, to any cloud image processing service, or to any third party during editing. The web app operates on your image within the browser’s sandbox.

Browser permissions requested by the web app

  • Camera access — requested only when you choose to take a new photo. Your browser will prompt you. You can allow or deny per your preference. Denying does not prevent selecting an existing photo.

  • Photo library access — requested when you choose an existing image. Handled through the browser’s file picker.

Browser storage used by the web app

  • Local storage / IndexedDB — used to preserve editing session state (which pack you selected, layer positions) so you can return to work in progress. This does NOT store your photos.

  • Service worker cache — application code, assets, and pack files may be cached locally so the web app loads faster and can work when your connection is intermittent. Cached assets are non-personal.

  • Session state — age verification pass/fail flag and session token, checkout state, and similar transient data.

You can clear browser storage at any time through your browser’s settings. Doing so will remove local editing state and may require you to re-verify your age on next visit.

Adding the web app to your Home Screen

On iOS and iPadOS, you can add the Banana Booth web app to your Home Screen via Safari’s Share menu. Doing so creates a launcher for the web app but does not change how data is handled — the web app continues to run in the browser’s engine on your device.

iOS browser limitations

Because the web app runs in your iPhone or iPad browser, its behavior depends on browser support for standard web APIs. Some features (such as saving images to your camera roll or sharing to specific applications) may behave differently than on Android. We test the web app on current iOS Safari and provide download fallbacks where a specific browser feature is unavailable.

7. Photo and Image Handling

Whether you use the Android app or the iPhone/iPad web app, photos are handled locally on your device. The following rules apply across both surfaces:

  • When you select or capture an image, it is read on your device so it can be displayed and edited.

  • Image access is used only for the user-requested editing workflow. It is not used for advertising, identity profiling, face recognition, content classification, or unrelated analytics.

  • Your image is NOT sent to Banana Booth, to any cloud AI provider, to any remote inference endpoint, or to any content-analysis service.

  • Banana Booth does not use your photos, edits, or finished compositions to train artificial-intelligence or machine-learning models.

  • A finished image leaves your device only when you intentionally save it to your device’s photo library, download it as a file, or share it to another application.

8. On-Device Processing and Machine Learning

Background removal and image composition occur locally on your device — either on your Android device (Android app) or in your browser via JavaScript (web app).

The background segmentation model used by the Android app is packaged with the application and runs on-device. The equivalent processing in the web app is performed by JavaScript libraries loaded from Banana Booth as part of the web app itself.

Your photo is not sent to a cloud AI provider, remote inference endpoint, or Banana Booth server for analysis.

Banana Booth does not use your photos, edits, or finished compositions to train, fine-tune, or improve any machine-learning model.

9. Information Banana Booth Does Not Collect

Across all surfaces (website, Android app, web app), Banana Booth does not collect:

  • Your selected or captured photos, background-removed cutouts, masks, thumbnails, temporary edits, or finished compositions

  • Image EXIF metadata, filenames, OCR text, face templates, body measurements, or other image-derived identity signals

  • Precise or approximate location beyond country-level inference from IP address for lawful compliance

  • Contacts, calendar, SMS, call logs, microphone recordings, browsing history outside our website

  • Advertising ID, IMEI, MAC address, Google Play Services identifier, or other identifiers designed for advertising or cross-app tracking

  • Full payment card numbers (handled directly by the payment processor)

  • Government identification documents or biometric scans (age verification vendor handles these under the vendor’s own policy)

10. Local Storage, Saving, Deletion, and Device Backups

Temporary editing data

During an editing session, the Android app and web app may hold your selected image and working composition in device memory, app-private storage, browser storage, or temporary cache as needed to provide the feature. Banana Booth does not create a cloud project or server-side copy. Unsaved work is designed to be cleared through the app’s normal session and cache lifecycle.

Saved compositions

A finished composition is saved only when you choose Save. The Android app uses Android’s platform storage APIs. The web app triggers a browser download or invokes the browser’s file-saving mechanism. Saved images remain on your device until you delete them or a device service removes them.

App preferences and bundled assets

The Android app may store limited preferences locally. Pack assets included with the current release are application assets, not user data. The web app may cache application code, illustrations, and pack files locally through browser mechanisms for performance.

Uninstalling, clearing storage, backup

Uninstalling the Android app or clearing app storage normally removes app-managed local data, subject to Android, device-manufacturer, backup, and restore behavior. In the web app, clearing your browser’s site data for bananabooth.app removes local editing state.

Photos you saved outside Banana Booth’s private storage or downloaded from the web app are not deleted when you uninstall the app or clear storage. Google Photos, Apple iCloud, device backup services, manufacturer transfer tools, or other services may back up or synchronize saved files according to your device settings and those services’ privacy policies. Banana Booth does not receive or control those backups.

11. Saving and Sharing to Other Applications

  • Save — Banana Booth writes the finished image to the location made available by your device (Android storage or browser download). Once saved, the file is controlled by you, your device, and any backup or gallery service configured on your device.

  • Share — Banana Booth invokes your device’s system sharing interface and passes the finished image to the application you choose. Banana Booth does not receive notification identifying the recipient, does not control what the receiving application does, and cannot delete the image from the recipient’s device or the third-party service.

User-directed sharing is not a hidden Banana Booth upload. It is an action you initiate through your device and is governed by the receiving application’s terms and privacy policy.

12. Purchases and Payments

Purchases on bananabooth.app are processed by a third-party payment processor specializing in age-restricted commerce (anticipated: Segpay, or another processor named at checkout). The processor collects your payment information directly through their secure checkout, not through Banana Booth’s servers.

What Banana Booth receives

  • Confirmation that a transaction succeeded or failed

  • Order details (which pack, price, currency, order ID)

  • Redacted card reference (typically the last four digits of the card) for support purposes

  • Customer email address you provide at checkout (used to deliver purchase confirmation and download instructions)

  • Country and (where required) state or province for tax and legal compliance

What Banana Booth does NOT receive

  • Full payment card number

  • CVV or card security code

  • Bank account number

  • Your billing address beyond country and state/province level unless legally required

Refunds, disputes, chargebacks

All sales are final. Banana Booth does not offer refunds. If you experience an issue with a purchase, contact support@bananabooth.app. See the Terms of Service for the full policy. Chargebacks initiated with your card issuer are handled through the payment processor’s standard dispute process, which may require Banana Booth to share the transaction records described above.

Recordkeeping

Banana Booth retains order records and transaction logs for as long as required by applicable tax, accounting, consumer-protection, and dispute-resolution law — typically 7 years in the United States.

13. Analytics, Advertising, and Tracking

  • No advertising SDKs or third-party advertising

  • No personalized or cross-context behavioral advertising

  • No third-party analytics SDKs in the Android app

  • Website analytics is first-party, cookieless, and does not create individual visitor profiles. We use privacy-respecting analytics that measure aggregate visit patterns without identifying individual visitors

  • No cross-site or cross-device tracking

  • No advertising identifier collection

  • No sale of personal information

  • No sharing of personal information for third-party advertising

If a future release adds any of the functions above, we will update this policy before or when the release becomes available.

14. Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery and Removal Requests

Banana Booth is a local-first photo tool. Banana Booth does not host user-uploaded imagery, does not operate a user gallery or social feed, does not distribute user-generated content, and does not maintain a server-side repository of your finished compositions.

Because Banana Booth does not host user imagery, content you create with Banana Booth is not stored on any Banana Booth server or accessible to Banana Booth for review or removal. If a finished image has been shared to a third-party platform or messaging service, removal must be pursued directly with that platform.

Reporting concerns

If you believe Banana Booth has been used or is being used to create or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery — including any depiction of you or another person that was created or shared without consent — contact us at report@bananabooth.app. Include:

  • Your relationship to the imagery (subject, authorized representative, legal counsel)

  • A description of the concern

  • Where the imagery is being distributed, if known

  • Any additional information you consider relevant, but DO NOT attach the imagery itself to your report — reference URLs or descriptions only

Banana Booth acknowledges valid reports within 48 hours and works with the reporter, third-party platforms, and law enforcement as appropriate. Banana Booth cooperates with lawful takedown requests under applicable law, including the TAKE IT DOWN Act and comparable state and international law.

Deliberate use of Banana Booth to create or distribute non-consensual intimate imagery, sexually explicit content depicting minors, or other unlawful content is strictly prohibited by our Terms of Service and may result in immediate termination of access, referral to law enforcement, and civil action.

15. Children’s Privacy

Banana Booth is an adults-only service and is not directed to or intended for use by anyone under the age of 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is greater).

Banana Booth requires age verification before access to adult content or purchases. Age verification is described in Section 3.

Banana Booth does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the applicable age threshold. Because the Android app and web app process image content locally on your device and do not transmit user data to Banana Booth, minimal user data reaches our systems through the app itself. Website-level information (age verification records, purchase records, support correspondence) is collected only after age verification confirms the user is an adult.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a minor has attempted to use Banana Booth, has completed age verification through fraudulent means, or has provided personal information to us, contact us immediately at privacy@bananabooth.app so we can review, revoke access, and delete relevant information.

Parents and guardians should supervise device use and consider content filtering, device restrictions, and parental controls to limit minor access to adult products across the internet.

16. Support and Privacy Communications

If you voluntarily contact us via email or the website, we receive the information you choose to provide, which typically includes your email address, message content, and any attachments. Do NOT send private, unlawful, or highly sensitive images in a support request.

We use support information to respond, investigate issues, maintain security and legal records, and prevent abuse. We retain support correspondence only as reasonably necessary for those purposes and applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion of support correspondence, subject to legal, security, and recordkeeping needs.

17. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

General choices

  • Deny or revoke camera and photo permissions through your device or browser settings

  • Clear the Android app’s storage through Android Settings, or clear the web app’s browser storage through your browser’s site-data controls

  • Uninstall the Android app to remove app-managed local data, subject to Android backup and restore behavior

  • Delete finished images from your device or any service you shared them to

  • Contact us regarding support correspondence, purchase records, or any personal information you believe we hold

California Consumer Privacy Rights (California residents)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and sell or share (we do not sell or share for cross-context behavioral advertising)

  • Request deletion of your personal information

  • Request correction of inaccurate personal information

  • Opt out of sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share)

  • Limit use of sensitive personal information (we do not use sensitive personal information for inferring characteristics)

To exercise these rights, contact privacy@bananabooth.app. We will verify your identity through reasonable means before responding.

Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, and other US state privacy rights

Residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (including Colorado, Virginia, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, and others) have similar rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing. Contact privacy@bananabooth.app to exercise these rights.

If you are in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or equivalent, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Our legal bases for processing include your consent (for age verification and marketing), contract performance (for purchases), and legitimate interests (for security and abuse prevention).

Banana Booth does not currently target residents of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland with commercial offerings. If you access Banana Booth from these regions, contact privacy@bananabooth.app for guidance.

18. International Data Transfers

Banana Booth’s servers are located in the United States. Information collected through the website, purchases, and support communications is processed in the United States. Third-party processors we use (payment processor, age verification vendor, email service) may process information in the United States and other jurisdictions per their own terms.

If you access Banana Booth from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using Banana Booth, you consent to this transfer.

19. Security

Banana Booth reduces privacy and security risk by:

  • Processing images locally on your device (Android app and web app)

  • Not maintaining user accounts or a user database

  • Omitting the Android INTERNET permission from the Android app

  • Excluding advertising, third-party analytics, and cloud image-processing SDKs from the Android app

  • Using industry-standard encryption in transit (TLS) for all website traffic

  • Using a specialized adult-industry payment processor with PCI DSS compliance for payment handling

  • Using a specialized age verification vendor rather than collecting identification directly

  • Retaining server access logs for a limited period (30 days by default) sufficient for security and abuse prevention

No device, software environment, or online service can be guaranteed perfectly secure. You are responsible for maintaining device security, screen-lock protections, operating-system updates, backups, and the applications or services you choose for saving or sharing.

20. Third-Party Service Providers

Banana Booth uses the following categories of third-party service providers. Each provider processes only the information necessary for its role and is bound by contractual privacy and security terms.

Category Provider (current or anticipated) What they process
Payment processing Segpay (or named processor at checkout) Payment card information, order details, transaction records
Age verification Yoti (or named vendor at verification) Facial estimation or ID data used to determine age; provides Banana Booth with pass/fail result only

  • Age verification session records — as required by applicable jurisdiction; typically 3-7 years for legal recordkeeping

  • Purchase and transaction records — typically 7 years for tax and accounting law

  • Support correspondence — as long as reasonably necessary for support, security, and legal obligations

  • Aggregate analytics — retained indefinitely in aggregate, non-identifying form

  • Photos, edits, compositions — not applicable; Banana Booth does not collect or retain these

22. Data Protection Contact

Privacy questions, requests to exercise privacy rights, or reports of suspected privacy issues should be directed to:

Email: privacy@bananabooth.app

Banana Booth App LLC has not designated a formal Data Protection Officer. Privacy inquiries should be sent to the email address above and will be reviewed by Banana Booth’s authorized privacy contact.

23. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect product changes, legal developments, or clarifications. The Effective Date and version at the top will identify the current public version.

Material changes to data handling, new third-party integrations, changes to age verification, changes to payment processors, or changes in retention practices will be reflected in the policy.
